I am writing to you to express my concern of the current threat to the, Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinic of Dr John Schaman of Breslau, Ontario. Dr Schaman has run this very successful clinic for 43 years, and has helped thousands of patients, including myself. A diagnosis of one or more of the varying forms of heart disease is always difficult to deal with. Dr Schaman’s multi pronged approach is instrumental in gaining confidence to deal with cardiac disease. After a scare in the fall of 2019, I was happy to become the recipient of his care. I particularly liked the monitored outdoor walking trail, which helped me gain confidence to become physically active again, an important component of heart health. The current concern is the application of a gravel pit to be developed very close to the clinic location, which would prove very disruptive to the clinic activities.
In addition to the clinic’s threat to survival, there are other reasons for not accepting the gravel pit development. The location is generally a very rural, rich farmland area, with a nearby large dairy farm , as well as a school, not to mention the village of Maryhill.
The anticipated disruption is mainly due to the large volume of heavy truck traffic on a constant basis.
I respectfully request that you oppose approval of the gravel pit development, to the best of your ability with respect to the status of your position. The clinic needs to be available to myself, but also to future generations, thank you.
J.H.
